Best Directing in an Animated Feature Production
An Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Directing in an Animated Feature Production shall be awarded to a Director or a Team of Directors (maximum of three), for creative excellence in the field of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award, individual(s) must have worked in the capacity of, and received screen credit as Director(s) on an animated theatrical feature that was originally released in the United States between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
A team of Directors is also eligible to receive this award, provided that each person received a screen credit as Director or Co-Director on the production.
If the project for which this individual or team is nominated has either not been released to the public or screened for the membership of ASIFA-Hollywood by October 31st, 2017, a submission of required materials must be provided for the members of this category’s nominating committee or, if materials are not readily available for judging, late projects may, at the production’s discretion, be held for judging during the 46th Award cycle in 2018.
Mechanical Requirements for submission:
Screeners are required for this category. Five (5) DVDs or a password protected online video screener must be included with a submission in this category. Screeners must conform to the requirements as described in “Screener Requirements.”
Clips from the production are also required, and must be uploaded as a digital video file, not exceeding five minutes (5:00) in length. Acceptable formats for video files are listed on vimeo.com/help/compression.
A teaser or trailer for the film is not an acceptable submission.
