Juried Awards

June Foray I Winsor McCay I Ub Iwerks I Special Achievement I Certificate of Merit

An Annie Award for Special Achievement in Animation is given to an individual, individuals, or a company for unique and outstanding achievement. This year, a 2-disc DVD collection of wartime shorts was released in 2004 as a special project by the Walt Disney Studio, and gave viewers the rare opportunity to look at a small part of America's perception of war during a time of great conflict. ASIFA-Hollywood recognized the special qualities that made the DVD stand as an amazing piece of animation entertainment and history.

The 2007 recipient will be Edwin R. Leonard for promoting the Linux open system for animation in animation studios and gaming software development.
